Schools, Colleges and Universities

Commission a series of self-contained ARC™ eco-classrooms or a new eco-building to an existing educational facility with a connecting glazed link, perfect for any school, college or university.  The ARC™ is a calm and inspiring space which is highly conducive to learning.

Year-round optimum temperature whatever the weather

Unlike many self-contained outbuildings the ARC™, with its heating options, including underfloor,  in-wall and ducted heating and ventilation systems, offers year-round comfort for optimum working and learning environments.  Add to the ARC™ the optional pollen-filtered air systems and you can create a cleaner and healthier environment to promote productivity and inspire creativity.

Solve learning space problems quickly

Whether you are looking for an eco-classroom, green educational space, reception area, staff room or other carbon neutral educational spaces, the ARC™ can be designed, built and delivered to site fully operational with all electrics, plumbing, flooring, tiling and decorating already in place.

Built-in storage and smart systems

Our eco-classrooms and buildings can be supplied with built-in storage.  Desks, chairs, reception areas and boardroom tables can also be designed and made by our in-house team of cabinet makers. We can also supply state-of-the-art smart systems to control temperature and air quality and operate media, windows, blinds, gates, locks, CCTV and other appliances.

Green Unit buildings

Traditional buildings

Planning permission

Classed as permanent or temporary where permanent planning consent is impossible

Full planning consent usually required for permanent buildings

Foundation type

Lightweight building on helical piles requires minimal ground preparation and disruption

Soil removal, engineering and concrete pour usually costly, time consuming and disruptive

Speed of installation

Pre-made, pre plumbed, buildings are quick to install with no cost escalation

Lengthy preparation, first , second and finish fixing stages with cost escalation risk

Energy performance

Highly insulated, climate controlled with air heat exchanger and triple glazing

At risk of energy loss by air leakage and cold-bridging through walls and widows

Sustainability

Timber construction, sheep’s wool and green roof produce negative carbon footprint

Materials and production processes require heat energy, heavy transport, produce CO2

Design configuration and reconfiguration

Modular design allows unique individual configuration and low-cost reconfiguration choices

Bespoke design and reconfiguration time-consuming and costly

Cost

Pre-manufacture fixes total building cost to between £1K and £2K per square metre
