Green Unit will be making some exciting scaling developments with its move to Lockwood Farm which will provide a secure covered space of 21000 sqm. With its lofty 15m height, Lockwood Farm hanger is annexed right next door to the Culham Science Park and will become a part of the buzz surrounding the Science Vale’s pre-eminence in cutting edge technology and innovation.
While Marylands Farm, the company’s base for the last six years, has been suitable for prototyping, the move to Lockwood Farm Hanger will give Green Unit an ideal location to meet its current and future production and storage requirements.
Lockwood Farm will consist of a large expanse of unhindered space allowing two production lines either side of a two-storey mezzanine. The four lines will take the production process at one end of the hanger from frame and substructure assembly through internal fit out, cladding, electrical, plumbing, roofing and finishing works. The road transportable pods are built up on steel subframes that will move down the production line on caterpillar tracks and completed units will roll off at the end ready for crane lifting onto articulated lorries for delivery to the client’s premises.
The two-storey mezzanine area running down the centre spine of the space will provide the insulated space required for component fabrication of walls, floor and ceiling sections, production plant and equipment as well as raw material storage, a large spray booth and production administration offices.
The Lockwood Hanger has several acres of additional greened and secure space outside, providing scope for presenting show units.
With these exciting plans firmly put in place, we expect to make the full transition from Marylands Farm to Lockwood farm within twelve to eighteen months.
